Before I completely finished my magazine cover, I got some feedback from others about the design. This way I can make adjustments to the cover before finishing.
Feedback
Contrast in colour on the front page - red has been picked out from the lips. Good gradient on masthead. Could find something more filling on the right hand side. Make the stamp on the right hand side look more like a sticker (possibly with an outer glow effect).
The front cover of the magazine is very basic. It has everything a front cover of a magazine needs. I like the way the main image on the front cover stands out as she has been lighted almost to perfection, reiterating that she is the main focus.
Good name of the magazine. good use of colours on the front cover. A bit too much space.
Some aspects need to be moved around. I would bring "leading indie music magazine" to below the title and try to fill up the space on the page. The "exclusive interview" font looks quite boring and could be changed to make the front cover look more interesting. Including a quote from the singer above "exclusive interview" would make the cover look more professional.
From the feedback given I will begin to re-arrange the front cover to a more professional look. This will also help as creating a house style for the contents page will now be easier.
